Any individual or legal entity can have a securities account opened with the Central Depository of Armenia. Once a person or a company purchases a stock or a bond and registers the transaction with the CDA, it becomes a registered security holder with all rights deriving from that status under the legislation.

Services provided by the CDA to registered security holders – both individuals and legal entities – comprise:

1. Opening and maintenance of personal securities accounts, including updates of account information at the request of the registered security holder, his nominee, or an authorized representative;

2. Transfer of securities from one personal account to another, based on:

• security buying/selling or REPO transactions done on the stock exchange or over-the-counter (OTC),
• donations or public trades in securities;
• privatization of formerly state-owned securities;
• inheritance;
• reorganization of a registered security holder;
• Court verdict or decree.

3. Blocking of securities in personal accounts of registered security holders and nominees:

• by order of a registered security holder (nominee) or their authorized representative, including for further buying/selling on the stock exchange;
• based on a verdict or a decree issued by Court, bailiff, or investigating officer;
• blocking of securities in the personal account of a nominee due to expiration/termination of its professional activity license;
• in other cases specified under the legislation in force.

• issuing new certificates to replace old, worn-out, or lost ones;
• issuing a security certificate at the request of a new owner of a documentary share;
• replacing a security certificate in case of change of the number of shares represented by the certificate.

6. Issuing statements on personal and registry accounts, including:

• statements of transactions on a personal or a registry account (also on the day transaction done);
• statements of transactions on a personal account or a registry account statement as assigned by a Court decree;
• providing information on the issuer and/or securities class(es), including by request of Court.
