Supervisory Board
The Supervisory Board of NASDAQ OMX Armenia is appointed by the general meeting of the company’s shareholders and comprises four members and the Chairman. The Supervisory Board approves general strategies and policies of the company, including the stock exchange rules, except the issues that, according to the legislation in force, fall under the exclusive authority of the general meeting of shareholders.
Chairman
Henrik Elfving is the Vice President and Head of Baltic and Armenian Markets at NASDAQ OMX. After more than 20 years in the industry (Nokia, Otaniemi Science Park, Fiskars), in 1998, Mr. Elfving joined former Helsinki Stock Exchange (HEX) serving as a Vice President and then Senior Vice President. For nearly five years starting 2003, when the combination between Swedish OM AB and HEX occurred, he led the Corporate Planning function on group level, while also being involved in M&A and integration tasks. After the combination between NASDAQ and OMX Mr. Elfving was appointed to head the Baltic markets and – since March 2009 – also the Armenian market, within NASDAQ OMX’ Transaction Services Nordic.

In his position of the Director of New Markets at NASDAQ OMX, Henri Bergström spearheads the company’s initiatives aimed at identifying and acting upon growth opportunities from Eastern Europe and Central Asia. One of the projects he led recently was the acquisition by NASDAQ OMX of stock exchanges and central depositories in the Baltic countries followed by their integration and creation of joint Baltic market and joint offering.
Andrus Alber, NASDAQ OMX Andrus Alber joined NASDAQ OMX in February 2007, and has since held the position of the Chairman of the Management Board of NASDAQ OMX Tallinn. He is also Chairman of the Supervisory Council of the Estonian Central Securities Depository. Mr. Alber has graduated from Tallinn University of Technology and has a masters degree from Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in USA. Most of his work experience is related to the central bank where his last position was adviser to the Governor. Mr. Alber has also worked at the European Commission, the IMF and was the economic adviser to President of the Republic of Estonia.
Gagik Arzumanyan, Armenian Copper Program cjsc Gagik Arzumanyan is the Executive Director of Armenian Copper Programme cjsc, a private Armenian company engaged in metallic mineral exploration, development and production. Mr. Arzumanyan joined the company in 2002 as Chief Financial Officer, before being appointed as CEO a year later. He is also Vice President of Vallex Group of companies, which ACP forms part of. Mr. Arzumanyan serves as Member of the Presidium of the largest business association in Armenia - Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers). He is also a member of high-level Business Support Council chaired by the Prime Minister of Armenia. Prior to joining ACP, Mr. Arzumanyan worked with the Government of Armenia, serving at various high-level positions. As the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy, Mr. Arzumanyan was coordinating tax and customs policy, macroeconomic analysis and forecasting, international financial cooperation.
Astrid Clifford, HSBC Bank Armenia cjsc Ms. Astrid Clifford has been Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank Armenia cjsc since 30 January 2010 and has been registered to that position by the RA Central Bank on 01 June 2010. She has worked for the HSBC Group for the past 21 years, and has held various managerial positions in the UK, Jersey, UAE, Oman, India, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong and the United States. Ms. Clifford graduated from Southampton University with a degree in Psychology and from The London School of Economics with a Masters in Economics.
