With effect from June 30, 2010, membership of "CASCADE BANK" cjsc in NASDAQ OMX Armenia was terminated based on the Bank's request.

NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange published an educational brochure intended for general public, in particular, young audiences.

The brochure developed by NASDAQ OMX Armenia presents, in a simple and entertaining way, various capital market related topics.

Among other topics, it describes the nature and features of different types of securities; explains the objectives a company has when it decides to issue securities and go public; outlines the process of initial public offering; explains the nature and importance of securities listing at the exchange from information disclosure and investor protection points of view; as well as shows how the stock exchange discloses trading data and explains terms and abbreviations used. The brochure will help the reader get an idea of how Armenian capital market works, explaining the roles of all players involved. Investment service providers’ activities are also covered, as are the main operations of the Central Depository of Armenia, in particular, where they relate to the protection of the lawful interests and rights of securities  holders.

The brochure was published under the financial assistance of Muscat Securities Market within the framework of cooperation between Federation of Euro-Asian Stock Exchanges (FEAS) members. The  2,000 copies of the brochure will be consistently disseminated in Armenia free of charge. Given the focus of NASDAQ OMX Armenia public education activities, in particular, on younger audiences, copies of brochures will be made available to local universities.

On June 22, 2010, Central Depository of Armenia registered the allocation of 120,000 common stocks issued by ARARATBANK ojsc. 

The stocks were distributed through a private allocation. As a result, the total number of ARARATBANK ojsc common stocks listed on NASDAQ OMX Armenia (ARBK) increased to 1,192,401 with total nominal value of AMD 5,962,005,000.

On July 1 and 2, 2010, VII CIS and Baltic Region Bond Congress will be held in Yerevan. The event is organized by Russian Cbonds news agency under the support of NASDAQ OMX Armenia.

The Bond Congress is an event held yearly since 2004 in one of the financial centers in CIS and Baltic states and has been an important event gathering market professionals from all countries involved.

The main objective of the Bond Congress to be held in Yerevan is to  present the Armenian bond market to the international community and promote investment interest towards this segment of the country’s capital market, while also providing a forum for all bond market participants to discuss issues related to bond markets of CIS and Baltic countries and to exchange experience. 

Among the invited speakers of the Bond Congress are the Central Bank of Armenia, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Economy officials. Presentations by NASDAQ OMX Armenia stock exchange, Armenian bond issuers and local investment service providers will also be delivered. Agenda sections devoted to debt markets of CIS and the Baltic states will be presented by regulatory officials, stock exchange representatives, as well as by issuers and market professionals, including Deutsche Bank, Standard & Poor’s, Russian Sberbank, Troyka Dialog investment company, MICEX, Goldman Sachs, and SEB Bank.

Overall, more than 200 market professionals for CIS and the Baltic states are expected to participate in the event.
